AB Dynamics Acquires Venshure Test Services to Expand Automotive Testing Operations in U.S.

Detroit, Michigan, April 10th, 2024

AB Dynamics (LON: ABDP), a publicly traded London-based global leader in automotive testing, today announced their completed acquisition of a majority stake in Venshure Test Services of Metro Detroit, Michigan. The acquisition advances AB Dynamics’ testing capabilities in the U.S. and strengthens its position to serve U.S.-based OEMs and automotive testing companies for ICE, Hybrid and Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs).

Venshure Test Services (VTS) is a premium EV & ICE vehicle development, testing, and certification facility, specializing in service mileage accumulation, dyno testing, thermal development and EPA Certification. Founded in 2019 by David Ploucha and Gerard Glinsky — both veteran entrepreneurs in the automotive industry — VTS has surged over the last five years through outstanding service to both incumbent and new players in the automotive industry.

AB Dynamics is a long-established leader in the vehicle testing industry, with extensive operations in suspension, chassis, and steering system development, vehicle dynamics testing on-track, safety system development, driverless car technology evaluation, and driving simulation. ABDP’s impressive customer base includes best-in-class automotive companies, such as Volkswagen, General Motors and Tesla.

Fast-evolving regulations for vehicle emissions paired with the need to improve EV range efficiency for customer adoption is accelerating testing timelines and increasing the pressure on automakers. To ensure compliance, automakers must test their in-development vehicles over their full lifespan, across extreme temperatures, and in varying conditions. New vehicles only achieve certification by passing these extensive tests, after which they can be approved for consumer sales.

VTS meets many of the automakers’ testing needs with its impressive laboratory, which is equipped with six (6) all season 2WD chassis dynamometers, three (3) 4WD AC dynamometers, two (2) climatic vehicle test cells with CFR Part 1066 dynos and solar loading, one (1) large multi-vehicle thermal chamber, DC fast-charging, and supporting infrastructure for on-dyno charging and fuel management, test operations, mechanical support, secure premises, and more.

David Ploucha, CFO & Co-Founder of VTS, noted, “AB Dynamics presents a synergistic opportunity to continue our growth trajectory through the integration of ABD’s various business systems.  The coupling of AB Dynamics’ handling, chassis and ADAS products with Venshure Test Service’s propulsion, HVAC and system efficiency testing, rounds out the suite of needs for OEMs and positions us as a full vehicle solutions provider.”

Dr. James Routh, CEO of AB Dynamics, said, “I am very pleased to announce the acquisition of VTS and the expansion of the Group’s testing services provision in the USA. The acquisition expands both our capability and geographic coverage in the important and growing field of EV battery and powertrain performance evaluation.

Customer focus on electric vehicle and battery technology is a long-term trend that will support continued growth at AB Dynamics as competition increases and new vehicle models require additional development work, testing and validation.

VTS has a first-class reputation for providing vehicle testing services to its OEM customer base, and we look forward to leveraging the sales capabilities of AB Dynamics to drive cross-selling and expand this further.

We expect the acquisition to provide us with an excellent platform for further growth and we are delighted to welcome the VTS team to AB Dynamics.”

VTS’s leadership and operations will remain in-place following the acquisition, continuing their focus to serve customers at their ‘white-glove’ service-level.
